Large axes

These axes are mostly late 19th to mid 20th century in date and the main areas of manufacture were Sheffield and the West Midlands, especially Birmingham and the Black Country. All axes are carefully restored and sharpened to a good working edge. If we have to replace a large axe handle we use English made grade A hickory handles which are the best we can currently source. These handles have generous 'body' to them unlike cheaper alternatives that are thinner and less comfortable in the hand when swinging the axe.
